Another chance to have a little lie in, then another great German breakfast before quickly exploring this wonderful German city. We all sort of wonder what it must have been like before the wall came down because you really cannot tell now that it was a communist country. Esprit and New Yorker are popular shop names that I think would not have been here in the DDR days.
Today we went to visit – guess what? Another couple of churches. The Mariandom has this great, as in large, bell which took 3 years to move into position. They had to raise it inch by inch with shims, absolutely amazing.
We walked around the city centre and then stopped for a bite of ice cream on the river side at an ice cream cafe, excellent. Now a little sink laundry and we should be good to go for our concert this evening. We will be singing in Jena, more words when we return.
