Tonight we met at the SSO offices on 20th Street, a little crowded with orchestra, choir, soloists and the like. Plus it was just starting to get into that really cold Saskatchewan winter. Eric welcomed everyone and said we would be starting with the pieces that involved Trumpet, which just happened to include our Bass … Continue reading 4th Messiah Rehearsal 16/17 Season
Tonight, as the first really cold night we have had this year, we meet to go through the program and work out the difficult bits. Some very nice pieces for this concert - great harmonies and chords so it should be fun. We arrived to find a non standard set up for rehearsal, no chairs … Continue reading 15th Rehearsal SCS 16/17 Season
This afternoon we again met at the SSOC offices for our Messiah rehearsal. Eric was in attendance and turned the podium over to Duff to start the rehearsal. The second half of the sixteen pieces we … Continue reading 2nd Messiah Rehearsal 16/17 Season

If I remember correctly we sort of tried to avoid scheduling one for this concert as we ended the last sectional at my house in early November. Tonight we just worked on the Cantata - there are … Continue reading 13th Rehearsal SCS 16/17 Season
New folks present this time. A Baroque Master Series presented by the SSO this year with three concerts of combinations of Handel, Bach and or Mozart. Around 33 for the chorus. So far mixed chorus, ie not singing as sections. Duff started with a wonderful feat of memory by going round the circle and introducing … Continue reading 1st Messiah Rehearsal 16/17 Season
